Don’t get me wrong, I love Trader Joe’s nut packs, but sometimes I need a little variety and tenacity with my mix. So I came up with my own and found that I could give TJ’s a run for their flavor. I understand the buck is a huge consideration and that is why the do-it-yourself bins at Whole Foods is a win in my book. You can decide how much or how little. You’re not paying for fancy packaging, marketing or top shelf or bottom shelf wars between products. If you just want a 1/3 cup of cacao and 20 gogi berries to add to your mix then there is no penalty for that. Here’s my favorite mix that gives me tons of energy with amazing satisfying taste and texture! Have fun with mixing and matching your own. - Any dried berries you want – I usually put Gogi, Blueberry, Cranberry, or Tart Cherry
- Fresh Hulled Sunflower Seeds
- Raw Almonds
- Dried (big flake) Unsweetened Coconut
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Dried Unsweetened Banana Chips
